Namit Arora, the primary editor of the group blog Shunya's Notes, was raised in India in the cow-belt city of Gwalior, famous for its imposing fort and the first epigraphic evidence of zero. His training at the Indian Institute of Technology in Bengal led him
to Louisiana for graduate school, precipitating his great escape to the San Francisco Bay Area. Since then he has worked with Internet technologies at three failed startups and three big corporations. At least his profession has afforded him opportunities to live, work, or
play in scores of countries. During a two-year break, he traveled all over India and created an extensive photojournal. Namit's writing has appeared in various online and dead-tree publications. A frequent contributor to Himal magazine, he also writes a monthly column for 3
Quarks Daily, and has recently finished his first novel. Contact him for enquiries or comment (email, website, his favorite books). A selection of his posts appears under his name on the left sidebar.
Namit's photojournal spans hundreds of Indian sites, and focuses on portraits, wildlife, archaeology, culture, and nature.
