Ruchira, this is from 2005 during our long India sojourn (seems like ages ago). The answers to your questions are yes and yes. I am in the right column further down. I have never played Holi in the US (unless doing so vicariously through my parents in India counts) -- for me the context is really important and it is just not the same in the SF Bay Area.

Is that Usha in the second pic? Is Namit in any one of the photos? Can't see him or can't recognize him.
I used to love Holi in India. Haven't played for decades. Wish I was there with you guys.
