I am surprised to read Namit Arora's comments on India. Essentially they are the views of all Indians who are awed by the glass buildings of USA.

a) Indians generate 1/10th per capita carbon dioxide than americans

b) Cancers per capita are one fifth of USA. Indians eat more natural foods, less packed foods in polythenes

c) Indians feel more secure at home, consume less aspirins

New Book by Namit Arora

  • The Lottery of Birth reveals Namit Arora to be one of our finest critics. In a raucous public sphere marked by blame and recrimination, these essays announce a bracing sensibility, as compassionate as it is curious, intelligent and nuanced.” —Pankaj Mishra
