Thank God every time I look up the sky, the flowers, the mountains, the sea, the rivers… evrey where I see the love of God. And your wonderfull job touch my heart. Thank you Sir. -
Scarlet,
Lawrence of Arabia was so awed by the beauty of the desert of Wadi Rum that he exclaimed, “Numen Inest” (“divinity is here”). The video opens with pictures from there. I myself do not see divinity in the usual sense of the term, unless the concept is elastic enough to also apply to gooey desserts. Here I used the term in a metaphorical sense for nature, which often provokes immense wonder in me as well.

In 1621, Robert Burton in his “The Anatomy of Melancoly” (sic!) wrote “What a glut of books! Who can read them? As already, we shall have a vast Chaos and confusion of Books, we are oppressed with them, our eyes ache with reading, our fingers with turning.”
So it was with tremendous pleasure that I found myself immersed in Numen Inest.
