Race vs. Class: The Future of Affirmative Action

Namit Arora Avatar

I came across this excellent debate and Q&A from last year on the following motion: “Affirmative action policies should focus on class and wealth rather than race and ethnicity.” It is worth watching for Lee Bollinger alone. The four participants represent distinct political constituencies, and the debate has obvious parallels with the caste vs. class reservations debate in India (1 hr, 32 mins).
